The Joint Task Force in Maiduguri, the troubled capital city Borno state, shot dead at least 40 people during raids in the city, witnesses said on Friday.
Two witnesses told PREMIUM TIMES that the JTF, which is on a peace-keeping mission, raided several neighbourhoods in Maiduguri late on Thursday and arrested and shot dead scores of people.
“About 30 people were killed during a raid in Gwange, behind Zawiya,” a source, who saw the raids, told PREMIUM TIMES.
